About Universities

Maharshi Dayanand University, established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976 with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand. It had a unitary and residential character in its nascent stage, but became an affiliating University in November 1978. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India - for central Govt. grants in Feb. 1983.

Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University (CRSU), Jind commomly known as Kurukshetra University Post Graduate Regional Centre started its function in August, 2007 with 2 programmes (MCA and MBA) and 2 lectures for each programme. At that time number of students were 84. B.Ed is one of the essential requirements to become a teacher these days. There are many students who want to pursue B.Ed through distance learning or B.Ed through Correspondence. Eligibility:

Pass 10+2 with 45% marks in aggregate for GC (general category) and pass marks for SC/ST from any stream from recognized board or its equivalent qualification with English as one of the compulsory subjects.
