GVR&S College of Engineering & Technology, Guntur is one of the Institutes under S.G.V.R & S Educational Society, is oriented towards serving the rural students in and around to provide quality education and to make them competent to face global competition. The aim of GVR&S College of Engineering & Technology, Guntur is to offer UG & PG courses in Engineering & technology and Management with a view to develop manpower, possessing knowledge and skills needed to enter in to various industries. The institute incorporates into the instruction leadership, competencies, personality development, moral & ethical values that go beyond the curriculum, as the promoting society attaches equal importance to integrate human values into education.
The college started with full fledged infrastructure and it is the determination of the management that makes the college as one of the famous colleges of A.P. The college is a typical example of meticulous planning, resource scheduling, human endeavor and institutional management.
THE CAMPUS
A built area of 1.2 lakh sq.ft on a 10.8 acres plot houses with class rooms, drawing halls, laboratories and computer centers besides amenities like canteen, auditorium and gymnasium. A fleet of busses , save the staff and students from the vagaries of public transport. The aesthetically designed structures, a well laid out campus dotted with green trees and gardens merge into a landscape that inspire the minds to "Think Positively – Work Result Oriented".

Admission Criteria and Procedure
All Admissions are provisional and subject to rules and regulations prescribed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh from time to time. The admission of any candidate even if made, will be cancelled if such admission is found to be made contrary to the above referred rules and regulations at any time. In such cases, the candidate shall not have any claim whatsoever in any manner.
The students are admitted into the four year undergraduate programs in two categories. The first category, Category-A seats constitute 70% of the total seats in the college. The Category-A seats are filled through Convener, EAMCET, Andhra Pradesh. The second category, Category-B seats constitute 30% of the total available seats. The Category-B seats are filled by the management through the news paper advertisement.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission into B.Tech program
CATEGORY- A (Convenor) seats: (70% of intake in each branch):
CATEGORY- B (Management) seats: (30% of intake in each branch):
As the present final year B.Tech, MCA and MBA students are the first outgoing batch from this college, with a view to provide them a better career, the college management has taken up a training programme by appointing an external reputed training organization to train the III and IV Year B.Tech, Final Year MCA and MBA students from the beginning of the academic year without disturbing the regular class work with the following objectives:
1.to provide training to students starting from 3rd year in communication skills, soft skills and interview skills
2.to make the final year students of B.Tech and MCA to work on their own for their project works and
3.to assist in providing placements to all the eligible students
This training programme from the beginning of the academic year greatly helped the students in facing the campus interviews and getting selections. The following National and Multinational Companies have considered our training programme is the best of its kind and conducted campus interviews and selected our students in their organizations:
1. Dell Computers conducted campus interviews on 20th Feb, 2011 and selected 60 students of 3rd, 4th B.Tech and Final MCA students.
2. HCL Technologies held campus interviews on 28th February, 2011 and selected 7 students of Final B.Tech and MCA
3. Dynpro, a Bangalore based IT company has selected 16 students of B.Tech & MCA students for IBM Clint in the campus drive on 19th March, 2011
4. M/s. Victory Electrical, Hyderabad, a core company which conducted campus interviews on 19th March, 2011 has short listed 22 students of EEE branch
5. M/s Wipro Technologies, Hyderabad came to the college on 3rd April, 2011 and conducted campus drive and short listed 26 B.Tech & MCA students.
6. M/s. Destimoney Enterprises Ltd, a finance company visited our campus on 14-4-2011 and selected 10 MBA final year students
The training organization also involved and assisted in the final year B.Tech and MCA students project works and made our students to complete their projects on their own which helped our students to gain technical knowledge.
