The Institute of Engineering and Technology, Sitapur, was established in 2005 with the goal of providing engineering and management education. A close interaction with industry and a strong emphasis on research is carried out. The institute, besides the ultra modern infrastructure focuses on improving the overall personality of the students. All the courses are affiliated to UP Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India and State Govt.

It is compulsory for the students to attend the Personality Development Course along with their engineering education. The personality development sessions are taken by professionals. Sitapur is a district in the state of Uttar Pradesh in the Lucknow division. The town is situated half way between Lucknow and Shahjahanpur and is 89 km north-west of the state capital. It is about 1.5 kms away from Lucknow-Delhi National Highway no 24. The district is traversed by meter gauge railway from Lucknow to Bareilly and on broad gauge train network connecting Gorakhpur to Delhi via Gonda Auto facility is available at bus stop and railway station and takes just 15-20 minutes to reach the IET.
