Ram Lal Anand College was founded in the year 1964 by Late Shri Ram Lal Anand, a senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India, in response to the growing social demand in the sixties for providing educational opportunities at the university level. The college was initially managed by the Ram Lal Anand College Trust. It was later taken over by the University of Delhi. Since 1973, it has been run by the University of Delhi as a University Maintained Institution.
The college is located in the picturesque surroundings against the backdrop of the Aravali ranges in the neighbourhood of the South Campus of the University of Delhi and several other educational institutions. It has a vast campus, spread over ten acres of land with green lawns and elegant buildings of much sprawling architectural merit. The college has excellent infrastructure, with state of the art Laboratories, Seminar room ,Amphitheatre, Library, Playground and Cafeteria. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Being a multi-disciplinary, co-educational institution it has approximately 1500 students pursuing different courses in Arts, Commerce and Science streams. Ram Lal Anand College is administered by a statutory Governing Body as per the University Ordinances and legislated by the Executive Council of the University of Delhi.
The college boasts off a highly learned and committed teaching faculty of about 80 teachers. Apart from their traditional role of disseminating knowledge, the teachers inspire and guide the students to manage different activities such as seminars, workshops, debates, theatre, cultural activities including classical music and dance programmes. Teachers are also involved in guiding students in various research and innovation projects. RLA with its wide expanse of fields and a technical support provides conducive environment for sports. Candidates with at least 50% marks either in Bachelor's Degree and/or in the Master's Degree or any other qualification equivalent there to, are eligible for admission to the training programme. This is also to be noted that it is not sufficient for candidate to have appeared in the degree examination of a waiting result. He/she must already be in possession of the degree & the marksheet . The candidate pursuing some other courses simultaneously with the B.Ed. course are not eligible. Admission will be granted on the basis of entrance-test comprising a written test, personal interview of the successful candidates and group discussion. Selection made for admission, in no case will be treated challengeable.

Pathway: Career Counselling and Placement Cell
Placement is the buzz word among students of the present generation. Colleges are no longer making a name on the top listbecause of the quality education they impart but also on providing best placements. Pathway, Career counselling and placement cell of Ram Lal Anand College works on a threefold manner to prepare our students right from the day one to face the global requirements. It is a forum, managed by a team of students and guided by faculty, which brings the best of companies for recruitments as well as internships to the college.
Career Counselling and Personality Grooming Programs: Pathway conducts series of seminars and workshops at a regular basis with the purpose of preparing and keeping the students of the college abreast of various developments in the corporate world through the Personality development program which gives them one-to one interactive sessions on programs ranging fromgroup discussion, personal interview, resume writing, soft skill developmentetc. in the beginning of the session for proper grooming and direction.Recently, Abbscissa HR Consulting agency was hired to hold an extensive workshop for our students.Many of our students pursue post-graduation in professional and academics for which students are encouraged and kept well informed aboutcareer counselling regarding higher education.
Internships:Summer internships are working as a bridge to facilitate students to get better placements. Students are well informed through emails and social media regarding opportunities available in the corporate world. Many students are selected for the internships like Akaaro consulting and training, Crisil, Nestkeys, Urbanclap, ICDL,CNFC etc. and gain experience along with pocket money. The students are also encouraged to participate in various other competitive activities like ICDL Digital challenge, Young India Challenge, Dell My PC My Story, Teach India Corporate social responsibility initiative of TOI with British Council, Internshala Career Scholarship for Girls, Internshala VTC Young Achiever Scholarships, CNFC(Times group) on job Training program for journalism students, Internshala Graphic Design Contest for summer internship to name a few.
Placement Cell: Students are kept updated about activities of Central Placement Cell of University of Delhi. Students participate through CPC in various placement drives at university of Delhi. The Placement cell of college steps forward by themselves approaching and maintaining relationships with the HR departments of the corporate organizations. The companies visited and selected students through placement drive areIBM India, Genpact, AON Hewitt, American Express, CoCubes Technologies, ICDL, Akaaro consulting and training, Skreenin Interactive Delhi, Pure Research, Urbanclap etc.
Pathway works in close association of alumni of our college, who are well paced in all walks of life. They also keep us apprised of any internship/job prospects in their company.We try to bring our alumni and the current students on common platforms, where they can share their knowledge, experience and current demand of the market and buildinga healthy relationship.
