Graduate from a recognized University with at least 50% marks. Final year students can also apply and their confirmation of admission is subject to quality in the examination.
Admission shall be based on the performance of the student in the MAT conducted by AIMA, C-MAT conducted by AICTE, CAT conducted by IIMs, and MAKAUT JEMAT Conducted by MAKAUT (Previously WBUT), followed by Group Discussion and Personal interview. The minimum cut off percentile in such examinations shall be decided by the Institute.
Admission Eligibility in B.Tech Programme
Admission eligibility in B. Tech program, academic session:-2017-2018 and general academic qualifications criteria to appear in WBJEE-2017 for enlistment in the merit list.
The Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination i.e. the ‘10+2’ Examination with Physics & Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Computer Application as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks in both theory & practical as applicable in regular class mode, must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% belonging to ‘reserved category’), must have passed English with at least 30% marks and a valid rank in WBJEE or JEE Mains.
Educational Qualification: Diploma in Engineering / B. Sc student with valid rank in JELET Examination eligible to appear in the online / manual Counseling conducted by WBJEEB.
NOTE :Decentralised admission in 1st Year and 2nd Year Level to follow the guidelines by the DTE, Govt. of West Bengal, applicable for the session 2017-18.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission in Diploma in Engineering Course
In all courses, the Intake capacity up to 75% students will be admitted on the basis of counseling through JEXPO Central Selection Committee and the remaining 25% students will be admitted by the Institute directly on the basis of the eligibility in accordance with the provisions.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission in M. Tech Course
Minimum qualification for admission to M. Tech course is B. Tech in appropriate branch of Engineering. A GATE score or a valid PGET score is required for admission. For direct admission to few seats a candidate have to contact the admission counsellor for detail. GATE score holders are eligible to get the stipend provided he/she fulfils the norms of MHRD.
INTRODUCTION
At SKFGI our role is to inspire the students to fulfill their full potential and prepare them for successful careers by help them to gain excellent credentials making sure that they really stand out from the crowd.
It is SKFGI’s endeavor is to equip students with necessary skills required for their employability in the industry and other organizations. To meet this objective, university has established Dept. of Training & Placement to act as an interface between the university and the corporate world and perform entire gamut of academic activities such as industry-academia interaction, guest lectures, corporate training, seminars, and workshops from time to time for strengthening corporate relations and ultimately help students getting placements.
The Department also organizes personality development, career guidance and counseling programs for the students so as to gear them up to take on the stiff competition in the corporate world. The Department also conducts group discussions, mock interviews and aptitude tests from time to time to prepare the students for campus placements. The Department regularly interacts with the industry to get inputs for review and up gradation of its curricula. The centre also organizes Corporate Meets from time to time to assess the requirement of the industry and gives the students an insight into the workings of the corporate world. Recently such HR meet was organized at the Institute. The participation and response from industry was highly encouraging that has started yielding returns in terms of training, placements, industry sponsored academic programs with AGS, Eclerx, Repro, Wipro etc.
Both the academic and professional educational systems are nurturing the philosophy of enlightening the society by spreading education and also preparing to achieve newer mile-stones in engineering and management careers. Therefore, it becomes imperative for us to develop a cohesive ecosystem for a larger benefit of the students and their recruiters by offering them positive platform & the best services. Proactive Customer Relationship Management (CRM) can help the organization to outreach and promote the knowledge of world of work and competence in the skills required to manage one’s own career development effectively through various programmes, workshops, talks, employer presentation and short courses which can be delivered uni-centrally in the Institutions. This can leverage and enable our graduates to excel in the field of work, as graduate recruiters value strong fundamental knowledge with the right blend of extracurricular activities and the right kind of work experience through internships, if possible is the goad of the Department of Training & Placement. The programmes shall not only undertake the opportunity to change the academic skills of the students but shall focus to envisage and imbibe to develop the range of life skills such as –
Such skills will help the students who will stand out from other graduates in an increasingly competitive Indian job market and obtain employment after graduation.
This will also help to grow to a new paradigm shift and take up a comprehensive goal which will help the students to not only nurture the academic and intellectual development but also enliven the personal and professional development as it should be in a techno management oriented college.
The Department of Training & Placement (Dept. of T&P) of the organization is envisioned to be an integral division of the Institute to support students learning and development and finally good placement. The Dept. of T&P will also contribute to, and benefit from, a strong national network of collaborations with employers and recruiters and career services in higher education resulting in enhancement to the services provided to SKFGI engineering and management students. It provides a range of services to assist recruiters of students including publicizing vacancies and other opportunities, arranging campus interviews for employers, and organizing recruitment fairs.
