Our Admission Process
Admission to the MBBS program at Ibn Sina Medical College (ISMC) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is merit-based and requires prospective students, especially international applicants, to meet specific academic criteria and qualify for the NEET-UG exam. The process involves several steps from application to enrollment.
Eligibility Criteria (MBBS Program)
Candidates must meet the following general and academic requirements:
- Age: Must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year.
- Academic Qualification: Completion of Class 10 and 12 (or equivalent) from a recognized board, with a focus on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).
- Minimum Marks: An aggregate score of at least 60% in PCB in the Class 12 examination is generally required.
- GPA: A minimum aggregate GPA of 7.0 across SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) is needed, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in Biology in HSC.
- Entrance Exam (for Indian Students): A qualifying score in the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is mandatory.
- Affiliation Requirement: All students must be eligible to be a part of the Dhaka University Entrance Exam/admission process.
Admission Process
The admission process typically follows these steps:
- Eligibility Check: Ensure you meet all the academic and age criteria, including the necessary NEET score for Indian students.
- Document Attestation & Equivalency: Get all academic documents (Class 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates) attested by the Bangladesh High Commission/Embassy in your home country. You will also need to get an equivalence certificate from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Bangladesh.
- Application Submission: Fill out the official admission form on the college website (typically around September–October) or through authorized consultants, and submit all required documents.
- Offer Letter: Upon successful verification of documents and eligibility, the college will issue an official admission or invitation letter.
- Fee Payment: Pay the initial tuition fee installment to secure your seat. A copy of the bank transfer (TT copy) is required for further processing.
- Visa Application: Apply for a student visa at the Bangladesh Embassy/High Commission using the admission letter, fee receipt, and other required documents (e.g., police clearance certificate, passport, medical certificate).
- Enrollment & Arrival: After receiving the visa, travel to Dhaka, Bangladesh, and complete the final registration and enrollment procedures at the college before classes begin.
